The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood area was $1.91 on Saturday. That’s 7 cents higher than last week and 29 cents less than this time last year, according to AAA.

In the area, the cheapest gallon of gasoline was the same price as last week for Killeen, Harker Heights and Fort Hood, according to GasBuddy.com.
In Killeen, the cheapest gas was selling for $1.68 per gallon on Saturday at multiple stations, including Walmart at 1380 Lowes Blvd. and Walmart Neighborhood Market at 2900 Clear Creek Road, according to GasBuddy.com.
The Sam’s Club at 600 W. Central Texas Expressway on Saturday was selling the cheapest gas in Harker Heights at $1.71 per gallon, according to users of GasBuddy.com.
On Saturday in Copperas Cove, gas was selling for $1.85 per gallon at Murphy USA, 2712 E. Business Highway 190, GasBuddy.com users reported.
Gasoline was selling for $1.64 per gallon at AAFES on Fort Hood, including 4250 Clear Creek Road, according to GasBuddy.com.
The statewide gas price average is $1.93 which is 7 cents higher than last week and 40 cents less than a year ago, according to AAA.
The national gas price average is $2.22, which is 6 cents more than last week and 33 cents less than a year ago, the AAA website showed.
